WHO AM I?

I'm Amber Farrant, a 22 year old Television and Radio student at the University of Salford. I'm currently in my second year with ambitions of working within this creative industry.

I love TV. I enjoy watching it, but most importantly I love being behind that camera. The first time I looked through the lens on a shoot, I just couldn't go back. Being behind a production and waiting for the final product is something really special. Whether on location or in a studio, I enjoy the development behind creating scripts, ideas, researching and bringing it to life. Furthermore, experimenting with sound, lighting and camera on set is exciting! Producing and directing are roles I've been introduced too at University and they certainly are both brilliant.

Radio presenting is such a passion of mine. I admire the way you can escape with your voice and a microphone. Music brings people together, and to discover new bands/artists and express them to others is fantastic. The fast paced production of scripts, interviews and sounds are what makes radio so interesting.

I'm a Radio lover! I enjoy presenting a music show weekly on Shock Radio! It is Manchester's biggest student station, so catch me at 4pm on a Friday for Amber's Hour!

Other than my enjoyment working within the television and radio industry, I have a strong passion for teaching. During the summer, I flew to America for 4 months, teaching young children the works of a camera and how to edit their footage into a masterpiece!
